Jacob Erlich, LCSW

About

I'm Jacob Erlich, a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker offering online therapy to clients across New York State.

Much of my work is with young adults dealing with anxiety, burnout, and the pressure of careers that have quietly expanded to fill everything else. Many of the people I see are thoughtful and capable, and still find themselves depleted, stuck in patterns they can name but can't shift on their own.

My Approach

Therapy here is collaborative, direct, and built around you. Rather than only describing what's hard, we’ll figure out where it’s coming from and why it hasn’t shifted. From that understanding, we work on changing it in a way that holds up in your actual life.

My goal is to help you:

  • quiet the thoughts that keep the anxiety running

  • get unstuck when the next step isn't obvious

  • move through transitions with steadier footing

  • understand the patterns you've been repeating without meaning to

I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, Family Systems Theory, and Motivational Interviewing, through a trauma-informed lens. The work is grounded in evidence and stays flexible to what you actually need.

Background

I earned my MSW at New York University and I'm a licensed clinical social worker in New York State. My training includes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Alongside my private practice, I work as a school social worker in New York City, where I hold the SIFI credential and supervise graduate social work interns.
